…ooo…this is the first page I did with a brush…
…actually it’s got some pen work in it as well, but my confidence that the brush was a good idea took a couple of years to “take”…
…can’t remember the context for the idea…
…or which publication it appeared in…
….(possibly a capping mag’)….
Legend. 🙂
…possibly within my own lunch time…but out side of that, I’m yet to be convinced… (cheers Tony)…
And it looks great !
I’ve used a brush for years, because all of my favourite comic artists did. (Walt Kelly !)
But you have to draw on big sheets of paper, this is not handy if you want to scan them. So I’m back to felt tip pens…
…know what you mean…I’ve been eyeing up A3 flat bed scanners for awhile…but seem to be getting the hang of squishing things onto a4 sheets…
You get used to it eventually. When I look at all the space I had to fill in the old days…
…exactly…30 years ago I drew and inked single pages onA2 sheets!!!…seems ridiculous now, considering my style…
This is a technical discussion of which I have little knowledge, except I used brushes and pens for calligraphy back in the day and always thought they are both excellent pieces of kit. Your drawing/painting is fab of course.
…cheers Frag’…(wish I’d done more calligraphy…my lettering is atrocious!)…
I only wish I had your lettering skills….
…practice, Pamo, practice…till it becomes like typing…. : )
I’ll never get to your level Tony but I have improved greatly with practice. My handwriting descended horribly in college.
Jeff on the other hand has beautiful handwriting- perfect for comics. He refuses to letter mine. REFUSES!
How is that fair?
Okay- back to it.
…(I’m picturing Jeff posting beautiful examples of calligraphy under an assumed name)….(tell him to send me a link, I won’t tell pamo…honest!)….
