Sketchy Wednesday II

….Flies!….

….Flies and Skullsncrossbones!….

…(lord knows what they make of this at work as I busily scrawl in the book and eat with my mouth open)….

…more “template B” madness….

…very satisfying to discover that the other motifs that you favour fit into the pattern that you’re playing with….

…mmm…four coloured pen….

A Bit Of A Flutter

…ditched the square lower wing option….

…the labels are all on seperate bits of paper….to give a “kids-labelled-insect-collection” kinda feel to the piece….

…if you’re looking for the indigo, it’s the background colour of the wings….

Sketchy Wednesday

…first in a series to catch up on the “new” sketch book….

…which I haven’t posted from since…er…well…since I put up the painted frontispiece that you can see sticking out on the left hand side….

…big secret project has made me a bit hoardy with my art stuff….

…spending most of my break time at work drawing…sandwich or cup of tea in one hand….multi coloured pen in the other…

…and am managing to churn out a sketch book page every 4 or 5 days….

…..trying to relearn sharing….

Stalled

…goddamn it…

…can’t seem to get enough time, energy, table saw, palm sander and sunshine aligned to get that big secret elephant in the room completed….

…so here’s an excerpt from paintbook that may become the next big secret not finished project….

….mmmm….flutterdies….

…based on the traditional (mid century) wooden butterfly nailed to every other house in New Zealand in the 60s and 70s….

….and the set of stamps that I blogged about here….

https://boredinarecordshop.wordpress.com/2016/12/21/from-the-childhood-stamp-collection/

….more of this next week if conditions don’t align again….

Black Belt In Procrastination

….second dan….

….saw this in an opportunity shop….

…had to have it for a holiday project…

…just so I could….

…there…

…that needed to be outside my head….

…now, about that big secret project….

…crap….

…out of time…

😛

Last Weeks Mystery Object Explained

…it’s one of these….

….came with this bright idea for containing my paints aaaages ago….and have been using a cardboard mock-up of what I had in mind since then….

….finally got it made when a looming project required an up tick in how many colours I need at my finger tips….

…the paint brush hole was a late add in, necessitated by the fact that I’d no longer have space for a paint brush pot on the edge of my work space after adding the new improved paint box….

…(yes I’m still stalling for time on the big secret project)….

…(and may continue to do so for an unspecified length of “awhile”)…
