….like t-shirts or skateboards…
…thats what that gallery owner said way back before lockdown….
…took me awhile to realise that nephew Max could be a source for used boards….and when asked at the Xmas brunch table if he had any he immediately left the table for 20 minutes to go find them!….
….and here are the results…
….Cheers Max…

….all boards had the original graphics ground off….stained to look like “real” wood…all skulls “n” bones and graphic edges burnt on with the trusty poker work machine….

…Max decided to go for a ridable option (these three are well thrashed)…and will bring me a fresh board to redecorate….a board we can document the wear and tear on…
This is fantastic work TT!…especially like the graduated colour…are you selling them?
…cheers Clare…yes I am selling…at some point…should probably hang on to them till the mythical exhibition happens…but the hallway art hoard IS getting had to squeeze by…. the rainbow one is a simplified version of another set of patterns I’m working on…thought just a skulls pattern for the boards as a tester for what is to come (eventually!)….
Cool…well keep us posted…i think I’d like to buy one!
….I’ll check postage for you…hopefully not too exorbitant….
….messaged you with details on you Mermaids Purse Acct’….(couldn’t figure out how to keep this from the general public’s view on mine!)..🙄
Got it..thanks Tony.
What Clare said! I especially like the rainbow one.
…cheers Frag…check reply to Clare….😃
When are you going to open an ‘art shop’ or run an exhibition? I miss interacting with Dunedin’s friendliest curmudgeon.
…hey Ian…was going to exhibit pre-covid…still aiming for that…but hey…you could just call!…still as grumpy as ever….😁
Could be that that Art Gallery Person should wake up, and realise that these boards in themselves would be terrific in an art context.
Not to mention the plethora of other artifacts which you have subverted – with your restless curiosity. Love to see a suite of those boards in formation, on a gallery wall. Dammit!
Unlike for many of us, they also would have a serious buying potential – in that Dunedin art context and more.
….cheers Adrian….I think he might prefer pastel shades….shan’t put me off using bright colours….will further bother the folk with rooms when I complete what’s on the desk at the moment…nice bright, busy centre piece of a thing…stay tuned….
Tony these are beautiful. Love seeing the works – just thought I’d let you know I’m still out here following what you’re up to. Big up.
P.s. when’s the opening 😉
