Stuff I Finished Last Year

…alternatively titled “Stuff I Spent All Of Last Year Making”….

…the frames are 865mm x 620mm…

…they (all 10 of them) are in “matched” pairs…

…some of the photos aren’t great because – long-covid-brain….

…but hopefully they’ll give you the idea….

…now to build up enough steam to maybe organise an exhibition…

…(…er…with long-covid-brain….who am I kidding?!!?…might take me a long while….)…

…saw a ceramic tree of life in Julie’s apartment whilst watching old episodes of Mod Squad….

….thought….”I wonder if I could make one of those”…

Playing for time

….um….

…gave away my accumulation of 50/60/70/80s sci-fi pulps a while back…

…(zero resale value…unlikely to read them again…too many giant purple monsters)…

…but hung onto a couple with attractive (to me) covers….

…in side back cover ads deserve an honourable mention…

…and as an annex to a major framing project (yep, finally confronted the matte cutter in the room) I did this….

….right….

…back to painting circles…

…but not till I’ve scoffed a handful of testrones…

Paintbook Twoo/3

…holy crap…

…I haven’t posted a paintbook page since before I had covid….

…that’s like September last year!….

….and this is what covid did to my painter brain….

…was going to try and emulate the background-circle effect as seen in the last post….

…with something in the fore ground…

…covid brain neglected to process that in sketchbook I was doing the foreground first and the circles were generating from points on said foreground, not appearing as a fixed/regimented background….

…like the one I’d just finished producing….

…over two pages…

…mmm… thank you covid brain….

…(at least I know I can paint circles, right?)…

…for the first few pages of a new sketch book I’m always at a loss as to what to draw….(exacerbated by post covid bullstuff in this case)…

…so I tend to go back to what I was doing in the previous book and give that another go….
