…can’t wait to get on to a scree of unfinished smaller odds and sods that are piling up around the place…

…a big shout out to the all makers of retro paint by numbers for the mesa “guidelines”…..without you this would have been crap…..

The Quest For Free Beer

….take the recently emptied, stoneware receptacle from the strong, imported beer you like….remove labels, rinse, decorate, add floral fascinator and sell for slightly more than you paid for it…..

…carry money to beer outlet and buy another beer….

…repeat process….

…if sobriety persists, decorate more bottles faster.

Shed

….built a wood shed….

…it can also be used as a drinking shed…

…or…

…a phone booth/orangery….(Italian sandals optional)….

…but first and foremost it’s a woodshed.

The Squarish Thingy With The Figure On Top

…(cheers for the title Frag’)….

…the squarish thingy with the figure on top is bro’ in-law Steve’s (significant) birthday gift and his “cake” decoration….

…twine wound in two directions around a custom made cardboard box, over a plain brown paper wrapping….glued on all edges and across centre of flat surfaces to frustrate any attempt at cutting….pinned at corners whilst drying to keep edge twine in place….

…hand written instructions added….

…two or so hours to “wrap”….

…some beer may have been involved….

….”brown paper parcels all tied up with string…(er…”twine”)….these are a few of my favourite things” – Mary Poppins….

…but possibly not Steve-o’s….(any more)….

…(note sticking-plaster over twine-cut)….

…at least twenty minutes of family entertainment….

…and the present?…

…800 Twinings Earl Grey teabags….

…(Twinings…twine…get it?)….

…and a giant Belgium biscuit instead of a cake….

…tea…check…biscuit…check…golfing reference….check….

…successful first project from the new work bench.

Work Related Beer

….grabbed a pint or two of take-out from the those fine people at Emerson’s the other day……mmmm….beer….

..mmm…taster’s notes…

….wuh!?!….

….uh-oh…

….I made it into the taster’s notes…

….could this be a case of mutual bad influence?…

…(after 2 pints I can’t find it in myself to refer to this marvellous brew as anything other than Phantom Menace…

….nobody else should drink this so that it will be more for me….

…so that it will be all for me…

…er…see what I mean about “menace”….

….always have a rainy day project in reserve…

 

 

…even if it means doing what you do for a living on your holiday…

…there are benefits….

…try not to talk to the local flora….

…and be careful which pot you use…..

…eat properly (goat sausages!!!,…I love my local butcher)….

…whilst not loosing sight of the main reason for getting away from it all…

…trying to aggregate all of the ideas running around in the sketch book with the aim of gaining some semblance of order with a hint of logical time flow…

 

….it took hours & hours & hours….

 

…but…(spoiler alert for those who won’t be able to resist embiggening*)…

…the results were….

…er…results….

 

 

…that’s close to 50 individual story ideas (at a very rough count)…22 pages worth of those already plotted…

…and then I put all the nice clean records back in their covers ….

 

…and went home.

…David Kilgour, international-dunedin-musician-man-of-mystery, was in the shop the other week to drop in some copies of the  re-released Great Unwashed Lp….

…the only copies he had left had been out to his most recent gig at Chicks Hotel…

…according to David “somebody” had spilt beer in the merch’ box and damaged these must-have artefacts….

…”somebody” then let slip that it was his good self that had perpetrated this unforgivable form of vinyl-abuse…

….how do you get top price for beer soaked goods?

 

….simple, you get the perpetrator to confess in….with a Vivid marker…

…instant collectable….

…that smells of beer.

…(and, you may be wondering,  was David wearing the “compulsory” red wig whilst signing said Lps?…he is a very shy & private person, I respect that & could not possibly divulge that piece of highly personal information….
