…I think I was gonna make some cigar box guitars and got obsessed with that label patterns….

…so this seemed like a “natural” progression from everything I’ve been doodling leading up to this point …
…and the red and blue?….
…the green and black seem to run out faster in these four colour pens and I’m gonna try and even them out ‘cos I hate it when you run out on two colours and there’s ink to be used…
….(looks forlornly at pile of half used up four colour pens)….

…the original sketchbook page that this idea comes from clearly states – “one step away from coloured macaroni-puss”….
…yep…
…so, in the top left corner of the colour page from the last post there is a stylised representation of what a grouping of the fang-toothed-octopuses-in-a-variety-of-colours would look like….
…I wanted to investigate that further without having to do the whole damn thing and smashed out a couple of small, reversible templates to do this….
….(quietly, very pleased with the results)….
…(and, accidentally, solved the not-so-popular-fang-toothed problem)….

…Paintbook is not only a place to express ideas in colour seperate from that dirty, broken old A5 thing I call a sketch book, it is also a place to stick bits of grease proof paper that I’ve used to create a reverse image of a piece I’d like to replicate facing the other way….
…(the finished piece marked “C” is the reverse image of which I speak and seems to have wandered off…lucky the other two are enough of a prompt to get the process rolling again!)….
…Sketchbook is also a repository for layouts of “The Greater Plan” I mentioned yesterday…..
…(…25 multi-coloured octopus panels on A4 sized sheets of light ply…probably have to be a retirement project)….
