…I wanted to investigate that further without having to do the whole damn thing and smashed out a couple of small, reversible templates to do this….

…almost exactly four years ago I had been reading a nice new hard bound copy of the complete works of H.P. Lovecraft (no Frag, no relation to the sauce) and came up with idea that the summoning of elder gods like Cthulhu’s Dad, Yog-Sothoth, was the sort of thing that went on at C.W.I meetings….
….(…lord help me if the my Mother or her cronies at the Country Womens Institute read this….I’ll be straight in the cauldron with the eye of newt….)….
…another (almost exactly again) year goes by and this gets added to the sketch book….
…what can I say…September/October are dark times indeed (with lots of eyeballs) in the southern hemisphere….
…for the next two years I became “distracted” by skulls and crossed bones and flys….
…however…
…on the 27/10/2019 this happened….
…was looking for something a little “calmer” than the Extinction Level Advent Calendar with rotating bugs, as committed to paper at the top at the page (still hoping to get back to that at some point), and had had a retrospective dig thru the sketchbook and thought the eyeballs from the first two images would work nicely as a repetitive motif….
…should of seen it coming really….
…and that was the ten days of brain storming that heralded the coming of the “Big Secret Project” and gave rise to “paintbook”…..
…now it’s another year down the track…. the world is a vastly different place and I still haven’t finished those fucking frames…..

….to celebrate moving from level 4 to level 3 (or level 4 with takeaways as I’ve heard it referred to) I have decided to share the end pages of the new sketchbook that are “obscured” by “template B” in the last post….
…( I also realised that the image doesn’t reveal the true nature of any of the pieces that I’m currently wondering why I started in the first place and that there was absolutely no reason to keep this experiment in alternative uses for “template B” under my hat)….
