Set The Accumulation Free Day

…had a more sedate start than I was expecting….

…polite browsing on a Sunday morning seemed to be the order of the day…

…this guy was first thru the (back) door a couple of minutes early and was rewarded for his precociousness….

…this week we’ll tighten “security”…

….another early visitor with a large pile of goodies….

…look at that satisfied grin….

…and I that’s about it for the photos…

…I didn’t take any of the car “low-riding” with 20 crates on board…

…or get any vid’ of folk fossicking…

….maybe I’ll be more organised this Sunday the 11th of July when we drop the next 10 to 15 crates….

…hopefully it will be another goodie for Restore, 7 Gordon St. Dunedin Central…

…(heard we broke their daily turn over record on “opening day” and can’t wait to hear how they did during the week)…

…see you Sunday…

…bring your big wallet.

…(if you just got here, scroll down for photos, vid’ footage and an explanation of the accumulation).

…(did I mention the 10 to 15 fresh crates?).

For Months

…I’ve been walking past this piece hanging in the hallway, completed last year, and I was mistakenly under the impression that I’d posted it….

…was scrolling back a bit to remind myself how to blog and realised it wasn’t there…

…so now it is….

…and some stills to reduce the blur….

…all the flies are detailed in acrylic metallic paints…they glisten as you walk by….

….must now cross reference everything in the house with the back-blog to make sure it’s all been shown to you….

…(or could he just be stalling for time to complete that “big-secret-project” he keeps promising us?)….

I Just Scrolled Back To See What The Last +oneware Item I Showed You Was

….and it turns out I’ve not really been posting much for 6 whole months!…

…my…doesn’t time fly when you get sick of your job and decide to go out and find another and that turns out to be a mind bending nite shift that completely removes you from the public eye and screws with your body clock so that it seems you only able to work and paint and grunt at the long suffering Dee?….

…yep…

…time flies alright….

….so we’ll start out gentle-like with a small one….

….yep….

…lure back ’em in, nice and easy….

Good god Is that The Time

…so busy making stuff I forgot my words…

…and the best I can do for a “triumpant” return is this repurposed touristy trinket from the Maldives….

…(….he didn’t even have the forethought to synchronise it with the actual doomsday clock…pfft…lazy!….)….

…(…and in his somewhat lack-lustre defence he will point out that he did go to the trouble of turning the fish upside down…that took ages…)…

…hey…I’m back.

…(shall not promise more or regular….but will try….)

Small Serving Tray

…it’s a serving tray and it’s small….

…oh…

…and it’s covered in skulls and crossbones….

…and has a tentacle on it.

Four Easy Steps

…have idea and draw it in your sketch book….

….”flesh” the idea out with pens and coloured pencils….

….try again….this time using paints….

….now apply idea to more permanent materials….

….place finished piece in nice frame you found with faded print in it…..

….mmmm…colourful….

….now you try.

The Quest For Free Beer

….take the recently emptied, stoneware receptacle from the strong, imported beer you like….remove labels, rinse, decorate, add floral fascinator and sell for slightly more than you paid for it…..

…carry money to beer outlet and buy another beer….

…repeat process….

…if sobriety persists, decorate more bottles faster.

Mired

…between circles…..
…and tentacles….
…and white paint….
…and colours….

…but the medium is becoming less milky, more translucent, and I’m sure I can see the surface of the pond from down here……

…don’t touch that dial.
