Lockdown 17/18

….wup!….missed a day….

…my official line of excuse runs – was to attempting to work on stressful holiday project in limited space, in middle of night, whilst endeavouring not to wake up Dee/whole fucking neighbourhood with power tool buzz/loud swearing, then ran out of creative patience so watched shows online instead of blogging….

….we live in tense times…

….I recommend resorting to music….

…wether it be in the green room whilst you’re supposed to be helping with side chores to the stressful holiday project….

…or wether you get inspired by Grace Of Spades on mixcloud….(check her out she has excellent taste in fine soulful tunes)….and feel the need to treat Dee to a birthday set to accompany her morning exercises…live and direct no headphones selecting from the library….(after shifting 300 tonnes of stressful holiday project so you can access the decks)….

….ah…music…the proper pathway to abandoning a stressful holiday project….

Fist Full O Sevens

…Too Tone playing one-deck on the Poweray at Dee’s place….

…tunes awesome…sound quality befitting the age and purpose of a 60’s mono portable disc spinning device!….

…first fresh plates in a long time….original late sixties early seventies 45s in near new condition (cheers John)….mmmm…need me some more of these….

And In My Spare Time

…from felt pen/highlighter roughs over photocopied pencils……to inks…..to highlighters again……and again……and again….…to the addition of some colour coded lines….

…voila…. a poster.

…(if you’re in the ‘hood you should drop by…should be a damn fine gig!)…

…(ps. you should see the “hard” coloured series….coming soon to this blog and walls in the greater Dunedin area!).

….3 years in the planning…

…the shelf above the “DJ” area in the library at home….

…made from re-purposed modular pine shelving from the 70s….

 

…I’m not that confident with tools, but I think this meets the spec’s….

Tip Shop Sound System

…having acquired a 42″ flat screen T.V. and dispensed with the old 27″behemoth class not-flat screen (with bloody great matching cabinet), the time had finally arrived to dismantle and dispose of the speaker stack…

…while this accumulation of worthless old speakers did look great precariously balanced, one atop the other, in the corner…they served no practical purpose, being either blown or too cheap to produce listenable sound. More importantly they  covered part of the wall that would now accommodate said 42″ moving picture device…

…so off to the tip shop they were carted…a full station (estate) wagon full…including one more pair from the shop plus a couple of old partial turntables some one “thoughtfully” left on the shops doorstep…

…couldn’t resist one more “installation” with them…
