List 5

…Ma!…

…that is not how you spell “sills”…

…(and I thought you were where I inherited my good spellering)…

…(omg…I just checked…you CAN spell it both ways)…

…(sorry Ma…thanks for the spelling gene)….

List 3

…almost every empty space….

…shall be filled with things to be done…

…then they shall be done…

…then they shall be crossed out….

…then we move onto the next empty space that needs to be filled….

…(and so proceeds a life of lists)

List 2

…oh…

…so you thought there was only one of these?….

…nope…

…Ma has been listing chores in the half filled pages of old diaries since I can remember…

…this one was started some time in the ’90s….

….the previous one (ones?) is lost to time and the fact that she wasn’t aware that they had some “archival-value”…

…more to come….

The Root Of The Problem

….much to my surprise (and glee) my mother handed this to me at Xmas…

…here, she said, you seem interested…I’ve finished this and started a new one….

….it’s not because it’s an indispensable reference document for any upcoming family history documentary….

…but because I’m fascinated by Mums to-do list making…

…to the point where I bee line straight for the current ex-diary that she’s filling up the unused spaces in to see if anything note worthy has manifested….

…every time a task is completed it is crossed out and added to the end of the list….

…so neat…so tidy…so final…

….now I have the whole thing….

…I can post alllll the pages till I have them neatly crossed off MY list….

…cheers Ma…

….for the best present ever…

…and…

…for the obsessive gene….

…(also…yay Dad’s awesome cursive script)…

…(all names and phone numbers squiggled out to unlist the innocent)….
