If You Go Down To The Shops Today

….you should give “Atelier Jeux D’esprit” a try….

…Deirdre did…

…and she got this lovely tea-towel….

…to be honest, while I do appreciate that it is vintage linen and very absorbent, I don’t think it fits my decor….

….(long suffering pony stare)….

…so it will be living at Dee’s place….

…check Elena’s fabulous accumulation of vintage textiles and hand made treasures out at….

…109 Princess Street, Dunedin….(second floor in the Queens building take the lift !)….

….

…now know what covid foggy brain is….

…what was I doing….

….it snowed today…

…gonna go look for a job next week….

…or maybe the week after…

…(maybe I’ll post some art soon)…

Directionless

…well almost….

…am juggling several small projects (between work days) during lockdown…

…the above is a template for one of those…

…waiting for the paint shop to open again so I can get the last three colours for that enormous piece that needs finished….

…busy, busy, but not blogging regularly….

Use Your Lockdown Wisely

….or not, depending on how much kids craft clay you have….

….this stuff cost $2 at the dump shop and I’m assuming that the previous owner had two packs and ditched the unopened one when they found how difficult it was to work with and how “dead-fish” slimy it was to handle….

..but hey, I had an extra day off presented to me at short notice and couldn’t think of anything better to do with said day, so I persevered….

…(the skeleton is from an earlier “sculpting” session…I suck at 3D….but give it a bash every once in awhile to see if I’ve acquired the skill whilst not practicing….er….that’s a nope on the skill acquisition by osmosis thing…)

…the small white ball at the front is the “change” from the 6 pack…

…the skeleton will be included in the final piece…

..(oh yes, there is a final piece)…

…back to a half day of work tomorrow at 1pm….

…(wish I had more clay for tomorrow morning)…

Fail By Numbers

….the original idea was to take the 50 year old oil paints left over after I replaced their paint by numbers palette with acrylics and revitalise them with linseed oil as suggested on the box, then smash them with the mallet whilst counting loudly, to create an abstract “piant by numbers” pattern….

….we (me & Spencer) didn’t factor in the robustness of the 70s plastic vials that the paint has been stored in all these years….

…we retired to the living room to listen to vintage Italian film music and talk shit in lieu of being “creative” for the afternoon….

…my dreams of being able to repurpose the evil fluids have been returned to the planning department for adjustment…
