…when a loud noise drew us out side to see this across the street…

…. a large piece of fell out of this building that wasn’t supposed to fall out like that…

…a’hole developer left it undeveloped soooo long because he couldn’t tear the historic frontage down and do as he pleased with the land underneath it, that the whole structure became very unstable…….making it even more dangerous for the guys trying to carefully remove it…

…mmmm…

…demolition by neglect….

The Bird Feeder

….if you feed the tahou (waxeye/silvereye)….

….you’ll eventually attract the korimako (bellbird)

….which in turn attracts the tui (parson bird)…

…who didn’t show up because I started too late in the season for him to take any notice as he was already doing quite well at a feeder a couple of houses over and now I’ll have to wait till next year to try and get him to come sing round my house….

In The Window

….every year I mean to document the myriad of fungus varieties that appear in my garden and environs around autumn….
