…because your hostess may have cleaned (out) the fridge…
…and only left you a fluffy quince…(without explaining they are supposed to be fluffy)…
…go outside….don’t forget your gloves….
…take pictures of nature….
…and natures residents….
…get back inside before the weather breaks….
…had a wonderful time…
…wish I was back there now!

…(ooo, if anyone was going to fall for that little bit of obscurity it was always going to be you, dear Frag’)…. black butter is a traditional Jersey recipe simmered for 24 hours in a large brass cauldron…it’s apple based and is flavoured with spices & liquorice…a spread not for the faint hearted and the only preserve that my mother makes that doesn’t end up disappearing into my good friend Dee before I go back for a second helping…. I think it’s made commercially on the island…but it’s not as staunch as when one of the crones cook it up…..: ) …
