..time to relax & enjoy the scenery….

IMG_4381…have dinner & start mucking about with a pen….

IMG_4356

…and drinking…

IMG_4357

…it’s always a pleasure to find a great table to drink work at …

IMG_4347

…day one…

…first order of business…

IMG_4386

…don’t try this at home or on holiday…

IMG_4384

…and for day two….

….always have a rainy day project in reserve…

IMG_4410

…even if it means doing what you do for a living on your holiday…

IMG_4411…there are benefits….

IMG_4405

…try not to talk to the local flora….

IMG_4392…and be careful which pot you use…..

IMG_4402…eat properly (goat sausages!!!,…I love my local butcher)….

IMG_4404…whilst not loosing sight of the main reason for getting away from it all…

IMG_4412

…which was….

…trying to aggregateย all of the ideas running around in the sketch book with the aim of gaining some semblance of order with a hint of logical time flow…

IMG_4396….it took hours & hours & hours….

…but…(spoiler alert for those who won’t be able to resist embiggening*)…

…the results were….

…er…results….

Scan 608

…that’s close to 50 individual story ideas (at a very rough count)…22 pages worth of those already plotted…

…and then I put all the nice clean records back in their covers ….IMG_4420

…and went home.

…(*the word embiggen is brought to you by…

  1. Love all the photos! Looks like a beautiful and serene cottage.
That’s a ton of work on the story lines…. Yay!!!
Always love seeing your smiling face too.

I follow Clare, but glad you linked to her stuff. She is phenomenal. Her ode to you in color… Wow!

Have fun Tony. Keep ’em coming please.

  2. All looks tremendous, the mushroom thing is very Tin Tin, and that pot looks like Villery & Boch ACAPULCO, if I am not mistaken. A picture of Goat sausage is worth a thousand words.

Great views, comfy chairs, art on the wall… it’s a castle !

And amazing to see how you prepare your stories. Most of the time I hardly know which way to go when I start a new one. And I usually change my mind, and the direction of the story, once I’ve started it…

    • ….polished worm eaten wooden floors and a deep cast iron bath…it’s two castles with an annex!!! …I’m also amazed to see me preparing stories….I’m usually so far behind on drawing the ideas I have that it looks like I have a cohesive plan…but really I just shake the damn things out of the sketch book and adjust some of the context to suit….keep waiting for Frag’ to find holes in my time line (excuse already prepared!)….

  4. Wonderful! Thanks for linking…I can’t take full responsibility for embiggening…which I couldn’t resist by the way…Homer Simpson has to take some of the credit. Or maybe his word was ensmallen.

Your prep is mind bogglingly amazing….

Thanks so much for a peek into your world. Your break away looks idyllic and made me realize I need one of those too.

    Keep them coming!

  5. It was Lisa Simpson who coined the term embiggen, one of my faves too. Great minds & fools etc etc.
Well it looks like a fab holiday I guess, if you’re a record cleaner ๐Ÿ˜€ Couldn’t make out the holes in the timeline, but I’ll find’em ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. That’s a pretty cool cottage – a permanent base of operations or holiday let?

  7. Grant McDougall ⋅

Whoah ! Wonderful pics. Pie and beer, greatest combination, ever. Looks like a wonderful getaway place. Well done, that man !
